Making Lasting Connections
We know leaving your child in someone else’s care can be a daunting thought. Every child is unique, and you know them best. Therefore communication with our parents is key, we want to get to know you and your child so we can work together to provide the best possible care for your children.
When your child first starts with us, they will be offered settling in sessions. This is an ideal time for both of you to familiarise yourself with the setting and get to know key members of staff. It is also a time for us to get to know your child in a playful setting.
During these sessions, we will also introduce you to our communication tool – Tapestry where you will be able to see all of the wonderful things your child gets up to during their time with us.
Communication from all members of the team is fab, particularly from the managers – I always feel like I know what is going on, the kids always have full tummies, after delicious home cooked food, they always have the most stimulating days. We are so lucky we found Oscar Bears.

Face to Face Communication
Every time you drop your child off or collect your child from Oscar Bear’s you will be greeted by a member of staff from their room. This will give you the opportunity at drop off to tell us any vital information such as “they haven’t slept very well” or “they haven’t had breakfast.”
At drop off, our team will greet you with your child and tell you all about their day, what they’ve done, what they have had to eat, whether they have had a nap and for how long, so you have all the information you need.
We love nothing better than a chat at the gate, however if you would prefer to have a more private meeting, you are welcome to book this via phone or email whenever you need.

Online Communication
When you enrol your child with us, we will create them their own online portal on our Tapestry App. Tapestry creates a unique and comprehensive account of your child’s time with us. Through the use of photos, videos, and diary entries, our team collaborate to showcase your child’s growth and development. You are also able to comment on any entries, and add your own photos and videos to share with our team.
The Tapestry platform effortlessly preserves these memories as a lifelong record. All information is securely stored on the platform and can be easily downloaded and shared.
We love that we can see what she is getting up to on tapestry each day on Tapestry and this platform is very well used. Communication with parents is excellent and we always feel informed and consulted. They are truly a special team of people.
